Meet Dr. Robin Thoman
Dr. Robin Thoman is a highly trained and trusted dentist in Indianapolis, IN. He is dedicated to providing personalized, comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages. By employing conservative methods, he is able to preserve, create, and restore healthy, functional smiles.
Dental Training and Education
In 1977, Rob joined the United States Army Medical Corps and was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Rob received his doctorate from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1987 before beginning private practice in Southport. He later completed postdoctoral training at the Medical College of Georgia and at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Dr. Thoman has received Fellowship Awards in both General and Implant dentistry. He also finds time to serve as the team dentist for the Indiana Pacers and volunteers as a pilot for Angel-Flight Missions throughout the mid-west.

- Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association
- Academy of General Dentistry
His ongoing professional training exceeds state requirements four-fold each year. Dr. Thoman activities in the community are extensive and include the Greater Southport Business Alliance (President), the Perry Senior Services (Director), the Indianapolis Spirit & Place Festival (Advisory Board), the Central Indiana Regional Transit Authority (Board Member) and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (vice-chairman). Robin is also the former mayor of Southport, Indiana.
